BarkeepApp is a one-time cost of $39.99. BarkeepOnline starts at $30 per month. For details see Pricing here and see details for Hardware here for optional equipment pricing.
Barkeep offers three products - BarkeepApp, BarkeepOnline and BarkeepPro. BarkeepApp runs on any current iOS device (iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch) and requires iOS 12.0 or later. An iOS device is all the hardware that you need to run BarkeepApp.
BarkeepOnline and BarkeepPro are hosted services that can be accessed from your web browser. No Barkeep software is installed on your PC or Mac.
See Required Hardware here.
Yes! After the barcode is scanned and a matching Item is found, BarkeepApp will automatically go to the Inventory Item screen where you can enter a quantity and add the Item into your Inventory. You can scan barcodes with the built-in camera on your iPad or iPhone. You can also purchase a Barkeep compatible scanner like the NexusConnect. See Hardware here for options.
You can either enter partial bottles using a decimal notation or by weight. For example, you might enter a quantity of .8 .5, .35, etc. Or, if you weigh your partial bottles, an amount in ounces, pounds and ounces, etc. For example, 28 ounces, 33.5 ounces, etc. Barkeep also supports Metric units of measurement. Weighing partial bottles is the industry standard for determining accurate quantities.
We offer the Etekcity Luminary Smart Nutrition Scale. It is the only Bluetooth scale that will work with BarkeepApp. We recommend the Etekcity Luminary for both speed and accuracy. With any other scale, you will need to enter the weight of partial bottles manually. We also offer the Accuteck scale for weighing kegs. It is a heavy-duty scale but does not have Bluetooth capacity. See Hardware here to purchase a scale.
When you enter a partial bottle weight, Barkeep will determine the quantity of liquor in the bottle using the following formula:
Bottle Volume * ((Partial Bottle Weight – Empty Bottle Weight) / (Full Bottle Weight – Empty Bottle Weight))
See the Barkeep User Guide here for detailed instructions on weighing bottles.
BarkeepOnline is a cloud service that connects with BarkeepApp. There are several key features that are only available with BarkeepOnline, including:
Yes. With BarkeepOnline or BarkeepPro you can manage suppliers, assign items (products) to suppliers, and set par levels. You can generate orders to send to your suppliers and then convert those orders into receiving inventories.
Yes. With BarkeepPro you can manage multiple Venues within a single BarkeepPro account. You can easily switch between Venues in both BarkeepApp and BarkeepOnline.
You can also create multiple users for your staff and control which venues a user can access.
You can connect more than one iOS Device to a single BarkeepOnline or BarkeepPro account. You and your staff can work on the same Inventory together when you each have an iOS Device running BarkeepApp and are synced to the same BarkeepOnline or BarkeepPro account. Only BarkeepOnline and BarkeepPro subscribers can take advantage of this feature
There are many restaurants using Barkeep to track their general restaurant supplies in addition to tracking Liquor inventory. Barkeep allows you to add your own custom Items and categorize them however you'd like so you can use Barkeep to track more than liquor. However, Barkeep was designed to track liquor usage - so the quantities, units of measure, etc. that are available in Barkeep are mostly beverage specific.
Yes. In BarkeepApp you can use speech mode to add quantities to inventories and also hear confirmations of the quantity and items you add.
